Traditionally the excess skin below the navel is resectioned without it being moved.
Today we perform a minilipectomy via a small incision (similar to a C-section) of approx. 10 cm in the pubis, enabling the muscles to be anchored from the top and drop the navel 2-3 cm to correct the small amount of excess skin above the navel (making it look like a “sad face”).
This technique is frequently indicated for patients with slight excess post-pregnancy skin or after a liposuction with a small amount of excess skin.
It generally accompanies HiDef liposuction on: abdomen, waist, back and arms. Abdomen definition can also be done. It’s an outpatient procedure which takes 3 hours and has a 10 day incapacity.
